So excited to be representing Keller ISD at the Texas Championship. We will be competing April 4th through 6th.
Our team represented the Cowtown BEST Hub for the BEST award and robot competition at the Texas BEST competition. We are excited to say we finished 6th in the state. Our drivers and robot team did an amazing job and scored some of the best rounds of the season. Congrats to all team members on an amazing job!!! On January 26th, we will be holding a Rube Goldberg building competition at KCAL. This event will open to all intermediate, middle, and high school students within KISD to compete in. We are requiring that all teams have a teacher or parent as a sponsor, so if you are interested in this, notify your students about the event. You can then sign your team up for the event at the link below. The entry fee is $5 per person and there can only be a maximum of 10 students per team. The cutoff date for signups will be October 13th. If you are not interested in sponsoring a team, it would still help if you would notify students about the event and encourage them to find a sponsor and team to compete in the event. You can find more information about rules in the document attached.
Sign up by using the following link: https://goo.gl/forms/bHFTC27YjIKhFwYt2 Mark your calendars for the Cowtown BEST Kickoff. We will carpool from KCAL. I can accommodate up to 6 riders. Watch the kickoff video and start analyzing the rules. Brainstorm ideas and sketch them out. Rough sketches are fine.
No meeting today. Enjoy your day off. Here are some things to consider for the booth: Interactive game/booth activity related to ocean waste or plastic recycling; display items related to ocean/recyling; home build filament extruder; possibly doing some hdpe molding projects (check out youtube); and anything else related to R^3 (reduce, reuse, recycle)...maybe some projects we could make (also check youtube) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qVD_rvyHnY KCAL Robotics will have its first Monday Meeting of the year. Our FRC season ended at the Dallas Regional. While we had a few technical glitches along the way, and a poor start, we ended with 3 straight wins. Retro completed the auto quest in those three matches and helped our teams by scoring lots of cubes in the switch, portal, and scale when needed. Great job to team 7121 and a great finish included a win over the number 2 seeded team Robonauts. Thanks to everyone who helped us along the way!Kickoff: 1/6/2018
